Well, if you’re looking for a new take on the DIY snowflake candle holder, ornament, or wall hanging, we’ve got the fix for you. Washer Snowflakes!
– washers in various sizes
– Gorilla super glue (any glue that bonds metal to metal will do)
– wax paper
– optional: wire or string for ornaments
The how-to for each of these objects is more or less the same. Here are the steps for our Snowflake Candle Holder. If you have questions about the ornaments or wall pieces, shoot us a note in the comments below.
Lay out a piece of wax paper as your work surface. Use a can or jar to trace a circle. This will be your template. Lay out a circle of washers. Add a second round of washers on the outside, acting as snowflake points.
To attach these two circles, it’s time to layer. Take a small washer, add a spot of glue, and press onto the spot where the washers meet. Continue around the snowflake.
Add more embellishments if you like, using the same method. Repeat for ornaments and wall pieces.
Let dry for 10 minutes, and you’re good to go!
